1. Summary

Melodiax is a local-first music player. It is designed to work with music already on your device. It does not require an account. Library, playlists, and preferences stay on the device.

• Melodiax does not declare the Android INTERNET permission in the design described here and does not include Melodiax-operated servers that receive your library.
• Melodiax does not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs that send your data to Nebulaz Apps.
• Optional actions (for example lyrics web search or the Android share sheet) may open another app or the browser under that third party’s own policy.

2. Who provides Melodiax

Melodiax is provided by Nebulaz Apps. Melodiax is independent and not affiliated with Phonograph, Retro Music Player, Metro, or their maintainers.

3. Data stored or accessed on your device

To function as a music player, Melodiax may read and process the following on your device only:

• Music library metadata (song, album, artist, genre, and related fields) for display and playback.
• Playlists, favorites, play counts, and similar listening state in app-private storage.
• App preferences (theme, equalizer, grid size, sort order, and similar).
• Optional local profile photo or banner you choose through the system picker.

Melodiax does not upload your music library, playlists, settings, or profile images to Nebulaz Apps or to Melodiax-operated cloud services.

4. Local writing and edits you choose

Some features may write or modify files on your device only when you use them—for example tag editing, embedded artwork, playlist or settings backups via the system document picker, or profile images. Those writes stay on storage you control.

5. Audio processing on the device

Equalizer, volume, gapless playback, crossfade, sleep timer, and similar features process audio on your device for listening. Melodiax does not transmit equalizer presets or raw audio streams to Nebulaz Apps for analysis or advertising.

6. Android backup

Release builds may allow Android backup mechanisms to include eligible app-private data (such as preferences) in device backups managed by Google or your manufacturer, depending on system settings. That backup is not a Melodiax cloud account. You can limit or disable backup in system settings where available.

7. Optional browser, share sheet, and third-party apps

Only when you choose, Melodiax may hand off a request to another app—for example opening the browser for a lyrics search (the query may include song or artist text you were viewing), or using the share sheet. Melodiax does not receive results into a Melodiax server. Data processed by the site or app you open is governed by that third party’s policy.

8. Permissions used

Melodiax requests only permissions needed for local playback and related device features, including music/audio or storage access as required by Android version, notifications for playback controls, Bluetooth connect for audio devices (not for location), optional modify-system-settings for volume, run-at-startup when enabled, foreground media playback service, and wake lock / vibrate / keyguard-related behavior for playback features such as sleep timer.

9. Data sharing and selling

Melodiax does not sell your personal data. It is not designed to share your music library or settings with advertisers, data brokers, or Melodiax-operated analytics backends.

If you later install Melodiax from Google Play or another store, that store may process install and listing activity under its own policies.

10. Retention and deletion

• App preferences and Melodiax playlists remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall.
• Uninstalling removes Melodiax app-private storage; your music files remain unless you delete them separately.
• There is no Melodiax cloud account to delete.
• Device or Google backups (if enabled) follow those systems’ retention rules.

11. Children

Melodiax is not directed at children under 13. Nebulaz Apps does not knowingly collect personal information from children through Melodiax-operated servers. Parents and guardians should supervise file sources and optional external actions.

12. Open source and credits

Melodiax is distributed under GPLv3. Third-party and lineage credits appear in-app under Open Source Licenses by name and license, without redirecting from About or Licenses to third-party project websites.

13. Changes

This policy may be updated if features or distribution practices change. The date on this page shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the published version, as allowed by law.
